How do you guys deal with mothers day? every mothers day it's always the same damn thing. I dont even know my own mother, it's been years since I've seen her, I hate having to fake mothers day by pretending to replace my own mother with a stepmother. does anyone else feel like ventilating here. what a shitty holiday.

My mother moved to America when I was 13 and left me with her parents. I was very upset for a while that she would choose money over me but I got over it. Every Mothers Day since she sends me a gift parcel just like it was my birthday or Christmas, so I end up the one who gets the presents!

I treat it like any other day. My mother was a complete cuck who let my dad whoop the shit out of me daily then blamed it on me for getting my dad angry while picking glass out of my face. I harbor no notions that I don't have both mommy and daddy issues but whatever I'm alive just with some sick fetishes. You see my mother was a mormon fundamentalist because of my father. There was no such thing as going against him no matter what he did. Even to this day she just goes along with whatever he does. The fact my mother can't be her own person and chooses to live under my fathers boot makes me sick which is why I don't celebrate mothers day. She could literally die in her sleep tonight and I'd be right there at her funeral, walk right up to the podium and tell everyone in the crowd to quit their fucking balling. They adopted me at birth meaning I don't know anything about biological family but once my downs syndrome brother was born my dad lost his mind thinking he was a failure, took it out on me physically (why I have jacked up teeth to this day) and my mom let it all happen without so much as a "sorry". She let me get beat every day for 10 years until I finally had enough when I was a teenager and whooped the shit out of my dad. Afterwards my mom told me it was uncalled for.
Fuck mothers day.
Fuck family.

When my mother died it just became another day. I usually forget mothers day even happened until after the fact if at all.

Honestly I forget more and more about my mother as time goes on. I barely remember what she looks like I cant even remember the color of her eyes or the sound of her voice and general memories of her are fading away. Every year on her anniversary of her death and her birthday I always forget and my sisters always say "you're a bad son" or you're a monster or a sociopath or something to that effect. They might be right I haven't once cried over her death I just feel numb and empty. I mean I loved her and had a good relationship with her so there might be something wrong with me. But im terrified that I might forget her completely.

My mom used to smoke crystal meth and so much so that I got denied for a job because they found meth in my hair (probably meth smoke residue laying in my hair when they took the hair sample). Then instead of apologizing to me she tried to spin it around and say that I was the one doing meth.

When I was a little kid I had to deal with violent meth-induced rage screaming between her and her boyfriends and police even took me out of class in elementary school to question me about it.

Decades later she still won't apologize for any of it.

Fuck mother's day it's a meme and so is family in general.
