Alt-Left is just the modern day center-left
Alt-right people are just 90's era centrists
Sometimes during the 00's the "left" went really really far to the left and tried to drag the cultural overton window with them
So now those on the right who think "wow these people went insane, I don't think societal norms in the 90's were bad" are called "alt-right" instead of the normie centrists they used to be.
it would be like if real cartoon version Nazi's took over the system and told everyone who wasn't a cartoonish Nazi that they were "alt-left"
