>>5087173>Why do Stalinists oppose Trotskyism so much? There is no such thing as Stalinism. It’s merely orthodox Marxism-Leninism, and instead of building up the Soviet Union into a superpower first, Trotsky wanted a quick rapid revolution throughout the globe.
>I am aware of the permanent revolution vs socialism in one country difference but i don't think this minor divergence is worth of so much hatred and i dont even think these two positions are mutually exclusive.MLs meme about hatred for Trotskyites, they’re both in favor of throwing their differences for left unity.
>Is there something else these two ideologies disagree on or is this "minor" difference much more serious and complex than i think it is?It’s in-between. Trotskyism is basically a a heavily modified and more internationalist Marxist-Leninist ideology, but that was enough to make it its own ideology. Thing is, the problem only started when Trotsky was causing too much friction amongst the Bolsheviks when the Soviet Union was still struggling to rapidly industrialize, but had he proposed his ideas some time after the country finished industrializing and became a superpower, there wouldn’t have been a problem.
All in all, Trotsky was pushy.
