SR was legit better than 4chan for its entire lifetime. It was the old community all the way up to like 2012 or whenever it closed. It wasn't polluted by any of the shitfest that this site was.
The fact that SR had a /z/ board and not once did anyone embed any malicious shit, viruses or such is more than enough evidence.
/z/ had full control to edit anything in the page, HTML included.

Word filters were hilariously abused.
Regularly common english words were replaced. Shit like "the" or "and".
