The bad thing is that the awesome feeling of the few first cold showers goes away too once you're adapted. Still better than warm water.

They don't do things based on a rational assessment of whether X or Y is better, they do it depending on whether rich or poor people do it. They're all about saving face.
If you pay attention you'll recognize small hints of that attitude in whatever interaction with them.
They know nothing of humility. They don't understand that sometimes more expensive doesn't mean better.
