Higher paying jobs in the US also offer even more vacation days, but there are few of these high paying jobs available. But it's true most low-middle paying jobs suck ass for handing out vacation and holiday days.
I met a German guy hiking the Grand Canyon and he said he had a whole 6 months off of work for some reason and decided to use the time to tour the US. I didn't ask him if it was paid vacation or not.
