I have a fun story about the alcohol monopoly actually. A few years back systembolaget (the government owned booze store) launched a very smug advertising campaign where they made fun of USA. In the adverts an american salesman came to the store and told them what to do to sell more (2 for 1, bottles near the check out etc.). But the swedish employees were all like "we don't want to sell more, we're for a moderate and safe alcohol culture".
Well no shit? Obviously there's no reason to try to sell more when you litteraly have NO competition. God damn that was stupid.

The prices are pretty high but still not high enough for there to be no alcoholics. We still have plenty of problems with it.
It's sort of a thing many do, they go to Denmark and Germany and buy tonnes of booze then sell it themselves.
