Doing stuff alone is fine. In a group of a 1000+ people of course some idiot will find that it is weird to do anything alone ever, but most people will be at worst like "eh, whatever makes you happy". Take solace in the idea that people don't care about you anyway near as much as you do, they barely even think about you. They are busy thinking about themselves, that is way humans work.
