They will hear it, and as long as what you say is true and they can google it and verify it, then you have a good chance of instilling value. I used this tactic on my sisters and step sister and her friends and it worked great for the most part. Basically just say things that WILL happen... talk about the stereotypical shit they do, because when they end up seeing the behavior like the aggression and impulsive behavior, even if they don't look up the other stuff, it shows you were right about several things and they'll expect other things were also right. Just don't ever lie to them or you lose this advantage.
Also never say DON'T DATE THIS PERSON OR YOU ARE GROUNDED... or anything along those lines. You cannot control your kids to the extent you think you can and I've seen girls straight up run away and marry assholes or wait out their parents until they turn 18 to move out and marry some of the douchiest assholes you've ever met that treat them like horse shit and aren't even good looking.... not because they even liked the guy that much... but just to spite their parents, which reinforced some fake bond because now she had to "fight" to see him which made it more exciting. You'll just be shooting yourself in the foot.
Basically passive true factual statements whilst talking to someone else while she is in ear shot is your best bet.
