I find Reddit and 4chan to be very opposite in how the whole comment and posting system works. Reddit favours the upvoted comments which in theory is ok because upvotes are supposed to be for things on topic that add to the discussion, not necessarily something you agree with or like (like memes which for some reason get upvoted like hell for adding zero to the discussion) and vice versa for downvotes; however in practice people just downvote things they don't like or don't agree with, even if it adds to the discussion. The result ends up being a hivemind and circle jerk of one opinion or a grand opinion with some minor offshoots, and everything else gets buried. There are obviously some exceptions to this but on the more popular subreddits this is almost always the case. On 4chan however you see everything all the time which I think is more reflective of the "masses" for lack of a better word, barring the type of people that browse this website, also barring the shit posting that happens quite frequently (which you eventually get used to). Regardless, I think I would rather see all comments or opinions that people have, like on 4chan, than just whatever people like the most. Nobody's voice is hidden here (to some extent), which gives you a broader spectrum of criticism, rather than Reddit's bullshit system.
