I remember once in school I had spilt phenol on the table. Like the complete idiot I was and am, I wiped it with my handkerchief and put it inside my pocket. In a few seconds, I realised what I had done and disposed of the handkerchief. However, that part of my trousers had become drenched in phenol and I couldn't take off my trousers and had to wear that until I got home. There were massive burns over my right leg, and had to go to a doctor and stuff. Phenol is the most unpleasant chemical we had to deal with in school, because it had this horrible suffocating odour, like it drains all the moisture out of your throat, and also because if you touched phebnol, you feel this peculiar tingling kind of burn that doesn't go after washing.
