So old, the ramparts surrounding Old Quebec (Vieux-Québec) are the only fortified city walls remaining in the Americas north of Mexico. In English, the city and the province are formally distinguished by the fact that the province does not have an accented é while the city does. The Château Frontenac is recommended lodging if you can afford it, but you will find several /cozy/ Inns & Hotels more than happy to have you. A word of warning however: beware the geese (they are jerks)
