Even I'll admit it can be tough to get back into that rhythm of sleep when you're so use to having something to help you. Try some melatonin from your local drug store. They'll knock your ass out and if it doesn't take more you can't overdose on them and they're non-habit forming because your brain already creates melatonin to sleep.
As for the desire to smoke that's just something you have to push past. It's a will thing.
