Why is this guy considered such a saint? Anytime there's a video of his or a mention of him somewhere, there's always people who say "we need more people like him" "he was a saint" "nicest man on earth." just because you're really chill on tv for a few episodes, does not automatically mean you're the nicest person in the world. Has anyone actually met this guy? Heard anything about him putting on this "persona"? From what I understand he was a drill sergeant and he was mean, angry, and down to business. Why the sudden "mellow" demeanor? Why has everyone solidified him as the quintessential "can do no harm" nice guy? Has anyone thought that the way he portrayed himself on pbs for 30 min episodes may not be the way he is irl?
