>>5512392For example, two things populist conservatism needs to rethink in Canada are:
1) Environmentalism. The unanimous establishment party line of anthropogenic climate change needs to be turned against them and contrasted with its policies of accelerated immigration. Canadians have huge carbon footprints, and a Canadian population of 100 Million is going to burn, consume, pollute, and strip resources at unsustainable rates. The world only has one Canada. When our vast wilderness of ecosystems and fresh water is gone, it's gone forever. This should not be done so Bay streeters can have extra vacations or another speedboat for their Muskoka getaway. Conservation of the integrity of our environment is a natural fit for Conservatism, and entirely defensible politically.
2) Economics. Money itself is now the means of production. You simply cannot make money without starting with money, and when the interest rate is low, people who already have assets can "borrow" more money for nearly free, and buy up instruments like real estate to increase their leverage over others. We are well on our way towards technofeudalism. But the Bank of Canada, unlike the Federal Reserve, is actually owned by the Canadian Public. That's right, YOU, the Canadian citizen, actually have a legitimate stake in our money supply and the instrument of its management, and by extension the vast wealth of natural resources that underwrite its integrity. Since money is now the means of production, and Canadians have rightful claim to our money supply, seizing the means of production in the 21st century isn't some Marxist sham of "throwing bodies on the gears and levers of the machine", or taking something that isn't ours. IT IS ALREADY OURS.
