I don't know if I can stand this person anymore. They have become very selfish, they lie, and they are miserable but it's because something bad happened to them. I keep forgiving them but it's become toxic.

seriously though nobody can give you decent advice on so little information. The person who has to make a decision here is you. I will say though that if you're going to stop dealing with this person to think really hard about whether or not you feel responsibility for the situation, and for your friend's well being, because if you do the guilt of not taking that responsibility will haunt you.
