The Sub Saharan Africans did not cross the Sahara desert except close to the Nile. Also, how could they cross the desert without being BTFO by other people's armies?

Also, even if they did reach the other side of the desert - which is basically a North South distance comparable to the Oarkneys and Gibraltar - even if they were able to do that most of the Berbers lived across the Mountains (very high Mountains) and in very large numbers.
What we have on record is those same berbers going South and conquering the desert in a first phase and the niggers themselves in the second phase.
The berbers of today are mostly mixed, no doubt. With some minor sub saharan element and a major Arab element.
However, the original berbers were not mixed with these elements. There are a few pure berber communities free of such mixtures in remote mountains close to the Mediterranean.
