Nordic people specifically aren't even the primary ancestors of western civilizations, genetically or socially. Celtic and Gaelic civilizations were distinct from them, and Romans would more likely be able to trace their ancient ancestry to the middle east. Nords are more related to the ancient Germanic tribes if I recall correctly.
In fact I think if you want to attribute the 'modern world' to anyone, it'd be from some ancient civilization in the middle east. That's where most historians believe the homo-sapien sapiens that came to Europe were from.
