It keeps going faster. Someone on here made a good point one time - As you get older, a year is a less significant amount of time of your life. When you were 10, a year was a good chunk of your existence. When you are 30, it is not, and that changes your perception.

Weird how that works, right? Probably something to do with the way our brains perceive the world when they're still undeveloped. Don't know if you can ever go back to that feeling of a day lasting way longer without rewiring the brain somehow, i.e. drugs/pharmaceuticals. Maybe prayer or meditation? Fuck if I know. The same amount of time felt "longer" back in the day though, I know exactly what you mean. It's fucking bizarre.

An analogy I use is that the first day of a vacation feels as long as the rest of the trip. When we stimulate our senses and brains with novelty, we take more time to process the experience.

In the other hand, when you live a monotonous life, your brain lacks stimulation and functions on auto-pilot. Think about when you're lost in thought and driving a familiar route, you don't even realize your surroundings until you're home or an unexpected stimulus catches your attention
