Then one half (east) continued on a little less fucked up path and the other (west) on a pretty good path.
Both failed to properly persecute the criminals of its predecessor, the GDR simply ignored it, the FDR allowed former Nazis to take high positions within the political apparatus, though most of them should have already been punished in the 40s.
In a lot of cases, that would have meant execution. Well-deserved.
I think it's been going better since the reunion, but it's far from perfect, we have either opportunistic moderates doing nothing but keeping the status quo and radical nutjobs who hate our constitution.
