What is the scariest situation you've been in?

Was just involved in a standoff at work with a guy covered in petrol. He tried to light himself 3 times but failed, turns out petrol isn't that flammable. He was tackled by the police in the end. Before someone says it, he was White British

I got robbed at gunpoint one time. Instead of cooperating with them I kinda bullshitted my way around and when they had me "empty my bank account" for them at an ATM, I gave them $150 and said it was all I had. Retarded spics don't know how to check a balance on a receipt so I really didn't lose much.

I've had a similar experience with a Somali when I lived in Amsterdam but I was so fucked on truffles that I didn't realise until the next day he was trying to rob me. I think I just stared at him all dinner-plate-eyed and it fucked with him, he left with nothing

I leant on a wooden telegraph style pole when I was ~10 years at an activity course. It was rotten through at the base and snapped. She was kneeling in a pit 3ft below and didn't have time to move. It bounced off her forehead smashing her to the floor. There was blood everywhere, it was pretty horrifying. The hospital glued her head back together but I've never found out whether there was lasting damage.

oh boy, I hate things like this. When I used to wait on tables someone's crutches slipped into the aisle where I was carrying plates through and it tripped me, leveraged off the table leg and smacked the girl with a severely broken leg extremely hard. Probably re-broke her leg. It was a hard thing to categorise because although it was definitely my action that caused a bad thing to happen, I struggle to see it as "my fault", but I still felt very guilty

A lot of these times the people robbing you are shitting their pants just as much as you. It could go horribly wrong if you're dealing with some nut-job, but most of them really don't want to rack up a murder charge on top of everything and have no true intention of causing you harm. It can be kinda easy to toy with them, but also risky if you make the wrong move on the wrong person.

Were others aware you were involved? I kept it very quiet that I was "the trigger" which caused the pole to break at that moment. I never told the camp staff since we lost touch.

I was working for my (ex) gf's parents at the time. I told them what happened, but I dressed it up a little more to make it seem even less like my fault. Maybe that suggests I was guilty, but desu I just didn't want the conversation about me hurting a customer

I've seen two dead people in my line of work. I work with people with severe mental illness and addictions, shit happens. I've never processed it properly. It doesn't effect day to day life, I wasn't "scared". But whenever I smoke weed (which is very rare) it is all I can think about
