>>5773608I speak English, German (obviously) and Polish fluently. I am okay at Spanish and Russian and I can speak basic Japanese.
How do i speak so many languages?
My grandpa was raised in Australia and taught me since I was able to speak, which is why I can speak English without accent.
My dad was born in Poland and also taught me that while young.
My grandparents live in Spain so I also learned Spanish while I was very young, but desu I am just okay at it.
I learn Russian because I wanted to read some books that haven't been translated to any language I knew so I picked that up too.
And Japanese from a friend that studies Japanese.
But as to why so many people speak English:
At least here in Germany we learn English starting in grade 2 or 3 (I honestly can't remember anymore) and many parents teach it to their children at a young age due to the obvious implications of a globalised economy and pretty much every job requiring you to speak and write English.
