There was a time when normal people browsed this place. People with jobs, lives and with interesting things to talk about from time to time. They didn't spend all their day here, so what little time they were here they made sure it was well used by discussing something meaningful or at least cracking some jokes and having some actual fun.
This all ended with the proliferation of NEETs and neckbeard losers like those at r9k. Loser NEETs and animefags (they overlap) ruined this site with their bitterness, complaints and low quality, low effort posting. But they're here all the day because they've got nothing better to do, so that's all you'll see here nowadays. The quality of a place of discussion's posts is inversely proportional to its activity.
If you want old 4chan just go to a more sparsely populated imageboard or forum. This place is mainstream now and you're a casual for being here.
