The hype about every sports event makes a great part of it too. If it wasn't for so many Russians going crazy about football, I probably wouldn't have watched the World Cup. So if Superbowl has it, its definitely worth checking out.

I do enjoy football (US) season. I like the game itself but a big part of it too is the social aspect, I usually have friends over to hang out and eat pizza and drink beers and whatnot.
Other reasons:
- less games than most sports so it's less time investment
- score changes back and forth pretty often so it can always go either way even in the last seconds of a game
- the season starts when the weather starts getting very comfy and crisp

Sounds nice. Unfortunately, here very few people care about American football, so the social aspect really loses out a lot. But, nevertheless, I still have to try to get into it just to understand what its all about.

But yeah I practice cycling, hiking and ice-skating (even though I suck at ice-skating and I only do it like once a year, I really like ice-skating)

Somehow I have always found both ice-skating and roller-skating quite easy to master. Guess its just the vestibular apparatus at work. Cycling was harder though...

Hiking sounds nice too, I never tried it, but walking like 15-20 kilometers per day isn't uncommon for me, so I'm guessing it should be fun.

Yup. I like hockey (go Golden knights) but have never played it.
I'm also a big Belegarth/Dagorhir fan/fighter but that's an alternative sport so I don't think it counts.

Way more interesting. It also is more technical. Football mostly consists of throwing and running. Plays are more determined by formations than anything else.
Hockey is fast paced and technical which is what I think draws most people.

Nah, we do, its somehow even quite a big thing over here. People put on armor and make actual tournaments, sometimes with foreign competitors. But its mostly infantry, lancer duels aren't that common, but still happen sometimes at fairs.
