The Internet isn't what I used to know. The concept of meeting strangers online doesn't even apply anymore aside from desperate virgins sliding tinder profiles to find a fuck friend. Everyone else only sticks with their teams, servers, guilds etc. MMOs and Internet games used to be social, now they're just hiveminds of circlejerking losers who think it's okay to hit on you if you give them the slightest hint of being a girl and shit on your if you aren't willing to compromise. I miss the old days when people didn't give a shit about turning everything political or sexual and there was no such thing as an outsider.
