Do any other AmericAnons feel a sense of misplacement? Kinda like you don't belong here?
As a teen I always felt indifferent towards America and every country really until I took a DNA test. I'm ~90% English and ~10% Dutch. This lead me to search for my paper trail and as it turns out both sides of my family have only been here since the 1920's. They came here from Yorkshire, England. When I turned 18 I took a trip to Yorkshire and felt a sense of belonging that I'd never felt before. For the first time in my life I felt like I belonged somewhere. The people I met didn't feel like any average stranger, they all felt like family to me. The contrast between how I feel in America and how I feel in Yorkshire is off the charts.
Do any other AmericAnons feel the lack of belonging in our country? Have any of you visited your ancestral Homeland?
