The truth is that ancient Romans and modern Italians/Greeks are pretty much the same. BUT, there was indeed some immigration from the East and the South IN MORE RECENT times, but that is true for almost all European nations.
I know that you don't like the truth and would like to live in a world where Romans looked like Germans or Brits, but the truth is that modern Italians and Greeks are the closest you can get to ancient Romans, and there is nothing you can do about it. And yes, science backs this up.
