>>5966119Voltaire was rampantly anti-censorship.
Kant and Hume fervently hated philosophy based in anti-science (i.e. what Humanities departments peddle)
Condorcet was a firm constitutionalist.
All four of these men would be right-of-center today.
The French Revolution ended up with France in control of a leader who bragged about how many of his people died from starvation and disease. And ironically, the guy who lit the fires of beheading the rich ended up beheaded for being too rich (again, the left eats itself). And the hypothesis that the French revolution was necessary to dispatch of monarchy is disproved by the dozen other European countries who, firmly right-wing, evolved past these things. Conservatism doesn't mean unevolving, it just means they're careful of regressive "progress". Maybe sometimes they're too careful, but being too careful is absolutely better than being careless.
My fault for not adding in the word "MODERN leftism" - which I should have done.
You think Kant and Hume would want kids being taught that there's no genetic difference between races when there is? That's the modern left. Teaching, in universities, the opposite of science.
