>>6013068seems like tech is moving further and further into immersion. This may just be fantasy, but, maybe shared dreams? Also, sort of the inverse, digital simulations that become "real". Real being, can be touched, tasted, smelt, heard, seen. We'll have a growing problem with escapism, but things like Rehabilitation will be easier. Prosthetics will evolve to a point where you can "feel" them. In fact, we're already almost there.
There'll be more and more "humane" ways to kill and torment our fellow man. Guns will probably start to move away from combustion based, in favor of railgun variants. The swarms of infantry normally deployed in western tactics will shrink and shrink until it's a few snipers and engineers with their drones.
Because of the millitary advancements, industry will have to advance too. There'll be a heavy emphasis on synthetics, especially polymers.
I don't see the environment being destroyed any time soon. The world is becoming more and more concious about conservation, though the more industrial places will still be hit really hard. If any of you have an interest in agriculture, I'd suggest looking into purifying polluted soil and reviving it.
Though the world will get hotter and the sun will shine harsher and harsher, the future doesn't look too bleak as long as WW3, which seems like an inevitability due to the weapons of mass destruction now in play due in part to the Cold War, doesn't utterly decimate humanity beyond the replacement rate.
