At one of my old jobs I had a fever for 3 days straight and since I was in a management position I couldn’t get someone to take my shifts. I told the store manager I was going to leave early because I was seeing spots, and he pretty much said “if you don’t want to be here you should just quit”, so I tossed my override card on his desk and walked out.
