>>608069I thought about mentioning Miami because its not popular among Americans but really popular among foreigners for some reason. Nice enough place. I liked it. But it's 90% hispanic. They speak English sorta, but they're gonna have trouble with your accent.
A few other tips for avoiding shitty parts of town where you get robbed.
1) In New York, avoid the Bronx and Brooklyn if you don't know where you're going. Jersey side is surprisingly gentrified these days though.
2) Avoid Oakland if you go to the bay area in California for some reason. Avoid downtown LA, east LA, and there's some southern region I'm forgetting. I'm not as sharp on my west coast geography.
3) I hear West Vegas is bad, but you won't have any reason to be there. The Strip and Old Town are both nice enough.
4) No idea what parts of Hawaii are shit.
5) Southeast DC is an infested AIDs hellhole. In fact, avoid the Green Subway line in general if you can.
6) The bad part of Miami is near the river.
If for some reason you end up in Chicago, avoid South Chicago like a warzone. Also avoid Detroit and Baltimore for similar reasons. Southwest Philadelphia is also shit, but not as bad as east of the river in Philly. Likewise, east of the river in St. Louis is another hellhole- don't even stop for gas just keep driving for at least 30 minutes.
I'm naming all the shit places, but don't get the wrong idea. There's plenty of good spots. I just make a point to memorize where to avoid and figured it would be useful to you if you roadtrip the continent.
