Even if you're ugly, you have to be confident in that being who you are. I'm not a very handsome guy, and I have not always been in great shape, but if nothing else I have always been confident because I am always comfortable with me and how I look because that is who I am.
The confidence you should get from working out is that kick of testosterone from the good workouts. That INNER confidence. That MANLY confidence. Confidence from just how you look is vain norgay.
As far as the bar, if you don't have one it can't strictly be helped. You seem to move around a lot too. I'm pretty poor though and I bought myself a cage and a bar and some other shit. It's not that expensive.
