Honestly the US is just helping Japan, Philippines, and SK, if we left they wouldn't be as secure as they are rn. Maybe during the 70's you could make an argument against the prolonged fight in vietnam, but there's nothing wrong with US involvement in asia right now. If anything, I think we should extend an olive branch to Taiwan as well as a middle finger to China and the status quo.
