Never happened to me though, sans this one time when I completely fucked my Fallout New Vegas installation by accident, and even then there was no effect on anything else. I guess it's because I rarely play Windows-only games at all (with Touhou being the sole exception), and when I do, they aren't very demanding.
I solved the stuttering problem, by the way. All I had to do is switch dsound to builtin (wine) version, but it changed the way ALL sfxes in ALL touhou games play. And now I'm not even sure which version is the correct one.
