I'm starting to develop a quasi-sexual attraction to clickbait. You see, I don't actually get enjoyment from clicking on it, but rather get a euphoria from simply viewing large amounts of it. It's designed to be deceptive, but in that same design is a basic dopaminic response in the brain, to the point that it feels like a drug addiction. Clicking on the videos does nothing but end the high. I conjecture that far in the future, clickbait will be considered an art form rather than a cancer, with whole sites devoted to clickbait itself. Within them, clickbait will clickbait you into viewing clickbait. It will be the ultimate ascension of human social norms. You cannot stop it. Nobody can stop it. Clickbait will reign supreme over fallen humanity, preventing us from entering space. Aliens will look to our civilization as an example of failure.
