What human development is not tied in to human reproduction, in the way that it ultimately would serve the purpose of the continuation of the species or the means for this to happen. I can think of a few but the opposite, that which is deemed beneficial for society (in the way that it would aid the continuation of the species in one way or another) is often seen as what is actually useful, and therefore also what is attractive from an economic perspective. What is there beyond, and does it ultimately result in asceticism? Disregarding such practice resulting from lack of or assumed lack of ability to contribute to the former.
