So me and my friend were talking about religion and some spiritual fluff, when he brought up the fact that God created the sun AFTER day and night were created.

what if the guy who wrote Genesis is trying to say that the sun is not what causes the time, but the time causes the day

maybe it's trying to say that it isnt describing a sun at all, but rather a metaphorical angel that guards the day, and another that guards the night
