Problem is, I don't even know his name. All I know is that his medals are flying around in the family. I'd like to get a hold of 'em before one of my inbred relatives decide to sell them away.
And yeah, learning more about world wars bring a certain amount of appreciation for living in a time when you will most likely not be drafted to rot in a muddy hole for multiple years.

And I don't think it's a big deal really: fate will take me when the time will come, and I will be at peace when it will happen. I make efforts to better myself, not to extend the time I have, but rather to make it more fulfilling and livable.
