The bad sides at this point apart from the obvious 'hurr durr errything wants to kill you' spiel is probably the spinelessness of our government. We're allowing huge swathes of the country to be sold to Chinese nationals and allow US-based companies to get away with billions of dollars in tax evasion because 'hurr durr we're nice guys for big business'.
Main differences from the US? There aren't many big glaring differences, as much as I'll rip on seppos, we do have a lot of cultural similarities. The difference is mainly going to be made up of a thousand little things as opposed to a handful of big things.
