Is there any particular historical or cultural reason as to why italians are such evil people?

Before this derives into an autism war, let me tell you that I am italian myself from the North (Italian from Europe, not amerishit LARPer) and can confirm that italian peoples from North to South ALL are scammers, thieves, cynics, liars, etc almost at a pathological level. Is not only the terroni. It's all.

I think it was Goethe or Leibnitz? One wrote about his travels in Italy and despite his admiration for the art, buildings, etc he also says that italians have a tendency to scam, lie, etc, meaning that this is not a modern development. Even Evola talks about the decadent italian soul.

So why? Where does this culture of being shit people comes from? Did we became like this all of a sudden?
