I unironically like vaporwave even though it's regarded as a meme music genre there are some positive points about it.

-the songs aren't always low-effort nightcore level remixes
-you can find out more about 80s niche music because vaporwave artists often sample obscure songs made by bands that don't even exist on wikipedia
-It's not bound to Japanese/US 80s/90s/early 2000s revival but there are tons of French, Italian and even Spanish (no russian songs tho) sampled songs, which allows you to discover foreign music indirectly.

Honestly I don't give a shit if you lynch me for it, but vaporwave definitely has its perks in spite of not being acknowledged as a real genre. Having bilions of views on Saint Pepsi's videos doesn't mean it's normalfag trash, that would be the same as saying touhou is super popular because Bad Apple has 2,089,491 views.
