I'd always wondered what people get out of political e-celebs. Sure, I'd reasoned with my internal dialogue, some of these e-celebs are intelligent and articulate, but they're not highly placed within the White House or anything, so it's not as if they're going to say anything earth-shattering when they're paraphrasing news articles.
Then it hit me: vicarious internal dialogue. NPCs need these e-celebs to play the role of internal dialogue. When an NPC reads a news article, the words don't truly register. So these e-celebs come along and use an aural modality to synthesize internal dialogue for the benefit of the NPC.
