Japan did some fucked up shit in the passed, that left familial scars and psychological cultural trauma.
I don't actually hold modern day Japanese people responsible, and many I've met are respectful and very good at their jobs. I get along well with most. Some however are incredibly disrespectful downright racist, and go so far as to claim "Japan never did anything wrong" - a Revisionist to historical fact if you will.
I would never be so crass or rude to say they deserved a "3rd one" after the loss, Korea and Japan could have been closer, while technically allies in part to America, we could have been true allies in the sense of Japan being genuine, but looked down on Korea (and China) afterward- slowly over the years continuing to dismiss or downplay war crimes.
I do think it's important in the long run for Japan to finally accept some responsibility and Korea to finally forgive the last 100 years.
But until then, I will continue to make banter.
