Ok so that depends. Technically toads and frogs have no genuine genetic differences placing them into seperate lineages like frogs/toads and, say, salamanders do. The general differences between them could be one of two things: their appearance, of which frogs tend to have smoother skin, and toads tend to have bumpy gnarls, or alternatively their habitat and behavior: frogs tending to be EITHER arboreal or aquatic/semi-aquatic in nature or toads being ground-dwelling and living in the underbrush; there is, however, significant overlap between the two suggestions, and some definite grey area as well. If I were to say in short, I'd go with their physical appearance being the difference, but naming conventions don't always follow this either, with specimens like bullfrogs and pacman frogs very clearly falling under the "toad" behavior and descriptions while very clearly also having features and behaviors of frogs and being called frogs. In short, IDK LOLE
