>>6454160I had a summer class with a Korean grill, her name was Hyun-something I forgot, and you could tell she would give anything to stay in Germany. She seemed to be a lot older than the usual exchange students, about late 20s and she seemed aggravated whenever we would bring up her origin. She seemed torn inside, never laughed with us, and as if her only focus was to learn as much German as possible and to somehow stay here. Really weird and despite her coldness, I felt sorry for her.
I've met another girl, can't remember her name at all. She had a visa and supposedly worked as a photographer. Whenever I asked her what kind of photography she does, she would evade and change topic. At some point she told me she used to sleep in an old airplane at night because she couldn't afford rent. Really crazy. She seemed so dead inside. I don't think we were ever close or what I would call a good friend or anything, but few days before her visa expired and she had to go back to Korea, she wrote me a long message on whatsapp, telling me what a nice person I am and that she will never forget me. Didn't expect this at all. Again, I just felt sorry for her somehow.
