>>645299I need to get into MF DOOM still. The little I've heard is really good. I really liked Earl's first EP, and DG is p. good. (only heard their albums up to NLDW though).
>>645521Back in college I slept at my friend's place and I had to wear one of his shirts when we went to class the next day because I think I threw up or something on mine and I think he gave me a Blind Guardian shirt. Other than that; I don't really know metal.
>>645657Bones the hip-hop guy or is there a metal band named "Bones" that I'm unaware of? I'd be sort of surprised if there wasn't, now that I think bout it.
>>645795I've only listened to Safe as Milk by Beefheart, but I didn't really get it. I mean I liked it, but I didn't think it was amazing or anything. Still need to hit up TMR, but I'm waiting until I can get absolutely trashed to listen to it.
>>645949I really, really love This is a Long Drive etc by MM, but I've never listened to their other albums.
>>646037Hey dad; yeah I like your music.
>>646104You know you can like both popular and unpopular artists, dad. The more I've listened to music the more I've realized that while talent is mostly necessary for success in the industry, it doesn't ensure it. You need a huge amount of luck, and so you can find amazing bands that no one has heard of, just because they didn't get lucky.
>>646127Slow Riot used to be my favorite album/EP
>>646172I've been getting into Busdriver recently. Some good shit.
Anyways, for me, in no order:
1. The Microphones/Mount Eerie
2. The Velvet Underground
3. Elliott Smith
4. Radiohead
5. NMH
I'm more into single albums than bands so this isn't really that representative of what I listen to, because I feel like it'd be weird to put someone like Terry Riley on the list when I've only listened to two albums by him, despite the fact that In C and A Rainbow in Curved Air are two of my absolute favorite albums, but those five above are the bands/artists that I've gotten the most into.
