Your mind acts like a filter and adds disgust onto that however, blurring the lines and makin it much less appealing.
This is what happens to both of us, we are both too disgusted to feel much for our hot cousins.
But if we add some intimate moment like a kiss, the primal urge might get a bit stronger at that point and partially take over the rational mind.
