As a Russian I had certain doubts about that, since our governments have very strained relations and we have had a war not so long ago. Yet, it appears that Georgian people hold no grudge against Russian people and are glad to see them visit.
Georgia has quite a cuisine, especially if you are fond of cheese and wine. If you ever end up visiting stuff like Khachapuri, Henkali, Kinzmarauli, Saperavi and of course Chacha are something you absolutely have to try. Could tell more if you have any questions.
