I recently watched Redline, thought it was pretty good, but there is something i don't understand. The first race was supposed to be rigged by the mafia to make a profit but how exactly was it rigged?

If I remember right, it was rigged because JP wasn't likely to win. When he looked like he was about to come through at the end though, and the bets were all finalized and locked in place, they made him crash. Thus nobody got their money for betting on JP, cus he lost.

JP wasn't supposed to win, basically the bets are rigged so when JP fucking rockets out of the gate, he manages to go up and makes the odds favor him somewhat, and when the bets finalized, they blow up his car.
