If you’re a big city person, you might feel like it’s lacking, but you get all your modern comforts while being able to travel to the countryside in less than 25 minutes.
I was raised in rural Iowa and am not a big socialite, but there’s a good “downtown” nightlife here.

If you aren’t coming to Des Moines, Iowa city has poor urban planning, Cedar Rapids is a shit hole, and every other name able city is just another small town.
